assistants assist senior editors in gathering and editing news from
wires services and other sources and in publishing copy to the Web site.
They also assemble markets news and information, and contribute to the
original online content produced for the site. Position Requirements:
Candidates should be passionate about editing, attentive to detail and
strong troubleshooters. They should show a demonstrated interest in
news. Overview: The Wall Street Journal Online is the largest paid subscription

Genome Technology magazine is looking for a full-time reporter to break
ground on an emerging beat in the genomics field. The right candidate
will be a resourceful, ambitious self-starter who has a knack for cultivating
sources, reporting from the inside, and breaking scoops. This person
will work for the magazine — writing news and short features as
well as compiling reader resources such as our new product section —
and also report and write beat stories for our online wire service,
GenomeWeb News. A science or science writing background is a plus, but
is not required. Genome Technology has a very small staff of writers
and editors, so this is a great opportunity for anyone looking to have
more responsibility and make a significant impact on a publication.
