Starting Oct 2005, and winter/spring 2006
Spend a year with us in the beautiful Pacific NW! Northwest
Service Academy members work with 100+ partner agencies throughout Oregon,
Washington and Idaho to address local environmental and community issues.
Beyond gaining hands-on and leadership skills, you will also have a
chance to network with the pros from throughout the environmental community
and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. One of the most environmentally
rich corners of the earth, the PNW Region abounds with natural wonders
from the snow-capped peaks of the Saw Tooth Mountains to the Cascades;
from the mystical waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge to the rugged
Pacific Ocean coast; and, from the remote outback of the high desert
to the vast stretches of wilderness areas. Outdoor adventures such as
hiking, backpacking, cross country skiing and kayaking are waiting to
be experienced. Benefits include: a $945/month stipend, health insurance,
a $4,725 scholarship, networking opportunities, on-going training &
professional development, loan forbearance and childcare allowance.

GREENAPPLE CORPS – AMERICORPS
NYC Parks & Recreation, www.nyc.gov/parks,
seeks participants for our GreenApple – AmeriCorps program. Starting
fall 2005, work on projects aimed towards improving the City through
environmental initiatives. Requirements: at least 17 years of age, a
US citizen or permanent resident and able to work approximately 38 hours
per week. Participants receive a modest living stipend throughout the

PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS
Come work with children in the beautiful mountains of Southern California.
YMCA Camp Marston & Raintree Ranch of the YMCA of San Diego County
is looking for Instructors to work with our Residential Outdoor Education
Program. Instructors lead hands-on experiential education classes in
natural science, team building and recreation using the classroom of
the Cuyamaca Mountains in northeast San Diego County. Starting salary
for instructors is $55-$65 per day with room and board provided. Applicants
should have a Bachelor's Degree in education, environmental studies,
recreation or a related field, equivalent life experience accepted.
Experience working with children in an outdoor setting. Good communication
skills including speaking in front of groups. Applicants should also
be energetic and motivated with a sincere desire to work with children
in the outdoors. Our season will begin at the end of September and run
